Role Overview

Hycosys is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead instrumentation integration and data acquisition activities supporting advanced Micro Gas Turbine (MGT) development programs.

This execution-focused role centers on test support, LabVIEW-based DAQ development, instrumentation architecture, and real-time test validation to ensure accurate, reliable, and high-fidelity measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specify, integrate, and validate pressure, temperature, strain, vibration, and dynamic sensors
  • Support planning and execution of component and engine-level test campaigns
  • Develop and maintain LabVIEW-based DAQ applications for real-time monitoring and logging
  • Configure DAQ systems including channel setup, sampling, filtering, and synchronization
  • Develop instrumentation integration strategies for wiring, grounding, shielding, and signal conditioning
  • Lead instrumentation technical reviews for test campaign readiness
  • Troubleshoot DAQ and instrumentation issues during live testing
  • Perform calibration, validation, and measurement error mitigation
  • Maintain structured documentation of instrumentation layouts and calibration records

Must-have Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with LabVIEW programming for DAQ applications
  • Familiarity with industrial DAQ systems including synchronization and triggering
  • Experience integrating sensors in experimental or rotating machinery environments
  • Understanding of measurement uncertainty, grounding, shielding, and noise mitigation
  • Experience supporting live test campaigns under time-critical conditions
  • Strong technical documentation and communication capability

Good to Have

  • Experience in turbomachinery or MGT testing environments
  • Familiarity with NI DAQ platforms or equivalent systems
  • Exposure to PLC-based control systems or test controller integration
  • Experience with high-frequency or high-temperature instrumentation
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for signal post-processing
