About Hycosys
Hycosys is a deep-tech engineering company developing advanced hydrogen-capable power and propulsion systems, with a core focus on Micro Gas Turbines (MGTs) and high-speed turbomachinery. We follow a strongly engineering-driven approach grounded in first-principles analysis, high-fidelity simulation, and disciplined experimental validation to mature technologies from early concepts to reliable, deployable hardware.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Rotordynamics Engineer to lead the full lifecycle development of high-speed rotating machinery for advanced turbomachinery systems. The role spans design, analysis, rig development, experimental testing, and system integration, with strong ownership of technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rotordynamic modeling, vibration analysis, stability prediction, critical speed mapping, and forced response calculations
- Lead design and commissioning of rotordynamics test rigs, including instrumentation planning and rotor balancing
- Execute and oversee experimental rotordynamics testing, vibration diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- Correlate experimental results with analytical predictions and refine models
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and controls teams for system-level robustness
- Provide technical input on bearing, seal, and coupling selection
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical reports
Must-have Requirements
- 8+ years of industrial experience in rotordynamics for high-speed turbomachinery
- Strong expertise with DyRoBeS, XLTRC2, ANSYS Rotordynamics, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with test rig development and vibration testing
- In-depth knowledge of fluid-film and magnetic bearings, seals, and balancing
- Proven ability to resolve instability, resonance, and vibration issues
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
Good to Have
- Experience with aerospace gas turbines or microturbines
- Familiarity with API 617 / 618 / 684 criteria
- Exposure to propulsion or power-generation system integration
- Hands-on instrumentation and high-speed data acquisition experience
- CFD–structural coupling for rotor–bearing–seal interactions
- Publications, patents, or recognized technical contributions
- Program execution exposure (PMP / Lean Six Sigma a plus)
