About Hycosys
Hycosys is a deep-tech engineering company developing advanced hydrogen-capable power and propulsion systems, with a core focus on Micro Gas Turbines (MGTs) and high-speed turbomachinery. We follow a strongly engineering-driven approach grounded in first-principles analysis, high-fidelity simulation, and disciplined experimental validation to mature technologies from early concepts to reliable, deployable hardware.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Structural Engineer to drive the analysis-to-validation lifecycle for advanced turbomachinery and MGT systems. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, involving structural analysis, optimization, and close interaction with experimental testing and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute finite element analysis (static, modal, harmonic, transient) for machinery components and assemblies
- Perform stress, deformation, and vibration analysis under mechanical, thermal, and rotational loads
- Support design and optimization of shafts, bearings, dampers, couplings, seals, gears, casings, and housings
- Drive structural optimization for weight, stiffness, durability, manufacturability, and safety margins
- Perform fatigue and life assessments including LCF, HCF, and creep where applicable
- Evaluate thermo-structural interactions under steady and transient conditions
- Support experimental testing through planning, instrumentation definition, and data interpretation
- Perform analysis–test correlation and update models based on results
- Identify structural risks early and propose practical mitigations
- Prepare and maintain analysis and validation reports
Must-have Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
- 3+ years of industrial experience in structural analysis of turbomachinery or high-speed systems
- Strong fundamentals in solid mechanics, structural dynamics, vibration, and fatigue
- Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS Mechanical and/or NASTRAN
- Experience with thermal and coupled thermo-structural analysis
- Working proficiency with 3D CAD tools (NX, SOLIDWORKS, or Creo)
- Experience supporting experimental testing and instrumentation
- Strong technical communication and cross-team collaboration skills
Good to Have
- Experience with hot-section components such as combustors, turbine blades, discs, and casings
- Exposure to nonlinear analysis including contact, plasticity, and large deformation
- Experience with creep and thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF)
- Familiarity with strain gauges, accelerometers, proximity probes, and thermocouples
- Knowledge of aerospace or power-generation design standards
Compensation & Location
Competitive compensation aligned with experience and industry benchmarks.
Location: Whitefield, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
