Role Overview
We are looking for an Intern – Turbine Aerodynamics Engineer to support development of high-efficiency turbine stages for Micro Gas Turbine (MGT) applications.
The role offers hands-on exposure to 3D CFD analysis, conjugate heat transfer (CHT) modelling, advanced cooling design, and design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) in high-temperature turbine environments.
High-performing candidates may be considered for full-time roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform 3D CFD simulations of axial and radial turbine stages (steady-state and transient)
- Support aerodynamic optimization of blade profiles, end-walls, and secondary flow features
- Assist in generating turbine performance characteristics (efficiency, pressure ratio, flow capacity)
- Conduct CHT simulations to evaluate blade metal temperatures and thermal gradients
- Contribute to design and analysis of advanced turbine cooling architectures
- Support Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) studies
- Collaborate with CAD and CFD teams to iterate designs based on manufacturability and performance
- Assist in documentation of simulation results and preparation for technical reviews
Eligibility
- Final-year BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech (2025 or 2026 pass-out) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong fundamentals in compressible flow, turbomachinery, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
- Basic understanding of turbomachinery aerodynamics
Required Skills
- Prior project experience in turbine aerodynamics, CHT, or cooling analysis
- Exposure to CFD tools such as ANSYS CFX/Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or equivalent
- Python or MATLAB scripting for post-processing and automation
